Welcome to 4th
Grade:
My name is Cheryl Bolz
and I will be your child's 4th Grade teacher here
at Scranton Attendance Center. I want to start by
telling you about my family and myself. My husband
(Ron) and I have lived in Lyndon and have owned
Bolz Insurance, Inc. for the past 25 years. In 1998
I decided to substitute teach and give myself a
break from insurance. I fell in love with the
school atmosphere and was a sub for three years. In
2001 I enrolled at ESU and graduated Magna cum
Laude in December 2004. I have two daughters Cara
(17) who loves and plays all sports and Conner (13)
who is my fashion coordinator.
To say I am excited
about teaching is an understatement. I became a
teacher for all the right reasons. I love trying
new ideas that will help your child prosper and
grow. I believe communication is the most important
tool I have in helping your child, and my student,
reach their potential. Knowing that communication
is important to me I love to hear from parents via
email, phone, or a handwritten note. I will keep
this web site up-to-date to keep you informed on
spelling words, book reports, and class projects.
Next, to communication
I love parent participation at all levels. I
encourage all parents to help in the class. If you
are able to volunteer an hour a week super, an hour
a day great, 30 minutes once in a while I will take
that and be happy. I love parents that volunteer to
have a student read to them, file papers for us, or
will bring food to share. Remember I said any time
given would be appreciated.
Communication works
both ways. If you have a question or comment I have
my cell with me always. I try and check for
messages on my breaks. I will call return your call
as soon as possible so leave a message as to what
you need to discuss and a phone number to call. My
cell phone is (785) 221-0609. I can't fix what I
don't know is broken so please make my number the
first you call.
Last, remember I will
be with your child roughly seven hours a day. We
will have good minutes and trying minutes but I
will always treat him/her like I do my own. I will
always try and keep the best interest of all my
students at the forefront and act accordingly. I
believe in starting everyday with a clean slate. I
can't wait to meet your child and begin to laugh
and learn together.
Sincerely,
Mrs.
Bolz
