Carrie Gregoire

This is my 11th year teaching. I have taught Title I and 4th grade in Edwardsville and the Topeka district. I am looking forward to a great year at Scranton.

Guidelines for helping with homework
1. Set aside a time (usually 30 minutes) each day for family learning (doing homework, reading about an interest, writing stories, etc.)
2. Help only when your child truly wants it.
3. Help only when there's an absence of anger or frustration.
4. Help only when your child can describe what the teacher said.
5. Move away from your child before he/she 'gets it.' Some kids believe they can only learn something or 'get it' when an adult is close by. To prevent this, don't sit at the table when your child does his/her homework.
