On March 14 the Santa Fe Trail High School Band performed in Orlando, Florida. A total of 43 students from SFT participated in the "All Star Music Festival Annual Music in the Parks" competition. The students were adjudicated by three judges that listened to and critiqued the band. The band performed two pieces and received an overall rating of 'Excellent' and a first place trophy for their division. The group then spent the remainder of the trip enjoying the rides and attractions at Universal Studios. On Sunday morning, the tired group loaded the bus and set off for the 25 hour trip back to Carbondale. The trip was a great success and could not have run as smoothly if it were not for the hard work of the sponsors that attended.
