TEACHER / LIBRARY / OFFICE AIDE

Prerequisites: Seniors; teacher request only; application submitted with enrollment form; permission of administration, 2.5 GPA, good attendance, no behavioral reports the prior semester.

These students are assigned to a responsible staff member and are required to do various principal-approved tasks as assigned by the supervising staff member. The grade is also based on attendance and all grades are pass/fail. Grade does not apply towards GPA. No aides will be scheduled during seminar. Only one aide per teacher per day. Final approval from principal/associate principal.

LIFE SKILLS

Life skills is a class designed to help students learn things that will help them function in our society. This class designed to give students experience with issues that deal with everyday independent living. Cooking, money management, and other topics are covered. Students will work indoors and outdoors with hands-on projects to get practical experience.

CHARGER STORE

Prerequisites: Permission of instructor, administration

Charger Store is a class in which students help operate and run a small business. They maintain and monitor the inventory, experience working in a group with co-workers, and learn to help custormers. Students learn to make change and count money. They count the store's inventory to determine if the inventory matches the money taken in that day. In addition, they keep the shelves stocked, mark the prices and help determine prices of new inventory. Hopefully, students will gain people skills and problem solving skills which will help them compete in the work force in the future.

RETAIL

Students learn business selling techniques by ordering, doing inventories and stocking supplies for the fall and winter concession stands. Students also help with the retail candy, pop, and juice machines for the school. They will work indoors and outdoors with hands-on projects to get practical experience.
