Who is considered “Out of District”?
Out-of-District enrollment is available to Kansas students and families who live outside of Santa Fe Trail Schools boundaries and are interested in attending our district. If you are unsure which school boundary area you live within, please use the KSDE School District Lookup Tool.
Important Dates
- Non-resident Applications Open: Jan. 1 – June 15, 2026
- District Enrollment Capacity Determined: On or before May 1, 2026
- Non-resident Open Enrollment Applications Reviewed: June 16-July 15, 2026
Enrollment Steps
Step 1:
Apply to Attend Santa Fe Trail Schools
Step 2:
Wait for official Non-Resident determination notfiication
Step 3:
IF APPROVED: Submit New Student Application
Step 4:
Your application(s) will be reviewed by district staff and once complete you will recieve an email with your next steps. Keep in mind this won’t be immediate but this email will provide you instructions with how to setup your parent PowerSchool account.
Parent Account Setup Instructions
Step 5:
Once your Parent PowerSchool account has been setup you will need to complete the enrollment forms found in your account. This can be done from within the PowerSchool mobile App or from the Web interface.
