Dear Santa Fe Trail Families,
Tomorrow morning, the alarm clocks will go off, backpacks will be zipped, and a brand-new school year will officially begin. On behalf of our entire staff and leadership team, welcome to the first day of school.
Every year, our overarching mission remains the same: we strive to build a district where your children truly want to be every single day when they wake up. We know that is a lofty goal, but it is the benchmark we set for ourselves. We are here to inspire our students and empower them to become the absolute best versions of themselves.
We also know that not every day is perfect—and that is okay. While moms, dads, and guardians are hard at work and managing life at home, our educators are pouring that same energy into our classrooms. Beyond academic lessons, we are actively instilling soft skills, social and interpersonal growth, and lifelong employability habits. Our hallways are filled with laughter, deep learning, and yes, occasional challenges. We believe that is the entire point of education: to learn, to grow, and to become resilient even when mistakes are made along the way.
Our schools serve as your child’s second home, where they will spend a significant portion of their childhood. We cannot do this vital work alone, and we ask for your continued partnership:
- Be Our Advocates: Partner with us as we celebrate student achievements and strengthen our school culture.
- Keep Communication Open: Share your feedback, stay engaged with teachers, and reach out whenever you have questions.
- Practice Patience: Help us create a safe, supportive environment for students from all backgrounds while we uphold our district policies and safety procedures.
It truly takes an entire community surrounding our schools to help our kids thrive. As we prepare to open our doors once again, please keep these quick reminders a priority for tomorrow morning:
- Complete Enrollment: Ensure your student is officially enrolled and all required paperwork is fully submitted.
- Review the Student Handbook: Take a few minutes to look through the student handbook together so everyone is on the same page regarding district expectations.
- Check Schedules & Transportation: Review your child’s class schedule and double-check their plan for getting to and from school safely.
- Prepare for the Personal Device Policy: Talk with your child about our updated personal electronic device guidelines so they know what to expect in the classroom.
- Connect with Teachers: Get to know your child’s teachers early. This is the most critical relationship you can build with our school to support your student’s success.
- Send Them Off with Love: Above all, hug your kids and tell them you love them as they walk out the door for their first day.
