What an incredible start to the school year! During my recent building walkthroughs, I have been inspired by the energy in our hallways. Classrooms are buzzing with learning, students are deeply engaged, and most importantly, our kids are talking to one another—using their voices and developing social skills in new ways.
A major reason for this fantastic environment is our updated device policy. I am thrilled to report that I have not seen a single cell phone out, or earbud in during my visits. Thank you, teachers, parents, guardians, administration, and most importantly.....our STUDENTS...... for your partnership in helping us eliminate classroom distractions.
To help us maintain this success, please keep the following guidelines in mind:
-
Strict Policy: Personal electronic devices are NOT permitted on students' persons, in backpacks, or in lockers during the school day.
-
Storage Options: Phones must either be left at home, kept in vehicles, or turned into the main office immediately upon arrival to be placed in our secure storage units.
-
Enforcement: Unauthorized devices will be confiscated, and appropriate consequences will be issued.
Our goal is not to engage in a "cell phone war" with students and families, but rather to unite around a shared mission to protect instructional time. I am immensely proud of the maturity and responsibility our Chargers have demonstrated so far—keep up the great work!
