A message from our principal

Dear Charger Families,
On behalf of the staff at Overbrook Attendance Center, I am excited to welcome you to the 2026–2027 school year! We are looking forward to a productive and positive partnership with you to help every child reach their fullest potential.

We believe that children thrive when they are supported both at home and at school. A strong partnership with families makes a significant difference in a child's educational journey. As partners, we share the responsibility for our students' success, and we want you to know that we are committed to doing our very best every day.

Please don’t hesitate to communicate with your child’s teacher as needs arise—we’re here to help. We are looking forward to a wonderful year ahead!

Pre K - Arrival and Dismissal

AM Classes 8:00-11:00
Arrival
  • Morning preschool starts at 8:00 a.m.
  • Our doors open at 7:20 a.m. Students who arrive before the start of the school day will be seated and supervised until classes begin at 8:00 a.m.
  • As this waiting time can feel long for our 3-year-old students, we encourage families who do not need before-school care or breakfast (served 7:30-7:55a.m.) to arrive closer to 8:00 a.m. This helps children transition into their day feeling refreshed and ready to learn. We appreciate your partnership in creating a positive start to each school day.
Dismissal
  • Walkers and car riders are dismissed out the west doors at 11:00am, parents must cross to the school to pick up their child
  • Busses will load in front of the building

PM Classes 12:15-3:15
Arrival
  • Afternoon preschool starts at 12:15 p.m.
  • Doors open at 12:15 p.m.
Dismissal

K-3 Arrival and Dismissal

K–3 Arrival
  • The doors open at 7:20 a.m.
  • Students arriving before the school day begins will either go to the gym or breakfast until it is time to report to class.
Reminder: Parents are no longer are permitted to walk students to the gym in the mornings. The only exception to this policy will be on the first day of school. To support a smooth transition, school staff will be present to assist students as they arrive. Parents may bring their child to the front foyer, where students will then proceed independently to the gym or to breakfast.

K–3 Dismissal
Kindergarten
  • Walkers and car riders are dismissed through the west doors at 3:15 p.m.
  • Parents must cross to the school to pick up their child.
1st–3rd Grade
  • Walkers and car riders are dismissed through the front doors at 3:20 p.m.
Reminder:
We will continue our current practice of asking parents to wait outside when picking up students who are walkers, rather than buzzing into the building. The end of the school day is a particularly busy time, and limiting foot traffic in the office allows our staff to focus on answering phones, managing dismissal changes, and ensuring a safe and orderly end-of-day process for all students.
We appreciate your support and cooperation as we implement these procedures to promote a safe and efficient school environment.

All K-3 busses load on the east side.
